Well, I have been a Mother for 1 year now. Although I really love motherhood I have realized I have not done anything for myself in over a year now. Huh, How does that happen?? Usually when my husband do something special it is for me and the baby. smile I cannot remember the last time I got a pedicure, massage, etc. The biggest thing I miss is working out. I hate to sound unappreciative, but I sometimes get tired of boring old flowers that will be dead within 14 days. Sometimes I wish more thought was put into the purchase of my gift. Please tell me I am not the only one who feels this way. (smile)

How to Earn FREE Wedding Invitations and Favors?

Brides let's face it. Times are hard and everyone is looking for ways to get the most for their money. So what are your wedding vendors doing to help you get what you want without loosing the high quality elegance you want for your wedding?

Well, I want to share with you an idea I am implementing to help Brides get exactly what they want on their big wedding day. One thing I am offering my customers is the ability to earn their products for Free. That's right, Free!

Most weddings have about 4-6 bridesmaids and groomsman’s. Typically they don't do much to help the bride in preparation for the wedding, but not with my plan. The wedding party plays a key role and helping the bride and groom get the items they need for their wedding. Here is how it works:

Decide to host a catalog show or online show of our personalized candy bars.
Ask each member of your wedding party if they will help you earn your wedding favors, invitation, etc for free.
Have each of them pick a date they want the show to begin and end.
You provide me the information.
I will provide them with all things they need to have a successful show.
For every sell made by your host(s), you will earn a % which can be applied toward your invitations, favors, etc.
Once we close out all the shows, I will tell your total reward you have earned.
You then apply toward your items.

My Top 5 New Year Resolutions

The Christmas decoration has been put away, the children have returned to school and you have returned to work. So what does that mean? Yep, the Holiday season is officially over and we have kicked off the New Year. Many of us made New Year Resolutions for 2009. Here are my Top 5 Resolutions:

Stay Connected- One of the great advantages of owning a small business is I have the pleasure of working with each of my clients. We have some much fun working together to design their personalized products. The sad thing is afterwards we loose contact. I often think about my old clients, but it is difficult to find them after they get married. This year, I would like to develop stronger relationships with each of my clients that go beyond the date of purchase.

Keep Customers Informed- The clients I have worked with in the past have had the luxury to learn from my expertise in the personalization business. Clients should not have to spend hours searching for ideas, products etc. (this is where my expertise come into play) This year, I plan on keeping my blog updated to share with you some of my personalization ideas. So don’t forget to subscribe to this blog so you can stay informed.

Increase Communication- I have always done a good job using my phone for multiple purposes. This year I will have a phone dedicated for my clients only. I will be able to be accessed anytime you need to talk about our products.

Referral Reward- I always appreciate referral. This year, each referral source will get a special gift.

Alliances Discounts- This year, I will give discounts to some organizations/individuals for example Honor Students, Farmers Insurance and FedEx Employees. If you would like your company added to the Alliances discounts. Let me know.

Let's take a poll on how many of you have heard of "Candy Bar Fundraisers". I bet every one of you have heard of this. Candy bar fundraisers are the most popular way to fundraise. So you ask why? Cause everyone "Loves Chocolate"! Fact is Americans eat 3.4 billion pounds of chocolate a year. Wow! That a lot of chocolate.

But one thing that bugs me about tradition candy bar fundraisers is they don't advertise your cause. You sell a bar of Hershey candy and the person has no reference about your cause. To maximize your fundraiser efforts, I highly recommend using personalized candy bars. For the same price, you can still use Hershey's candy bars, but you can put a personalized message on the front and back of the candy bar. Personalized candy bars create an emotional connection to your cause by allowing people to visually show their support of a cause. The eye catching personalized wrappers will easily make others aware of your cause. People can then visit your website, blog, or email for updates.

Candy bar fundraisers are very easy to organize and they are inexpensive, so many people will be willing to pay a couple of dollars for a yummy chocolate bar (for a good cause). 10 Tips Save Money on Your Wedding

Congratulations! You said YES, I will marry you. That was the easy part. Now the planning phase begins. What day is the wedding? Place? Colors? and so on. Well below are the 10 ways to save money for your wedding.

Plan your wedding during the off season. Many wedding facilities, DJ, photographers & more will offer lower prices during non-peak season. For ex. Jan and Feb wedding are during non-peak season

Plan your wedding during a weekday instead of a Saturday. Some wedding chapels offer cheaper prices for weekday weddings.

Plan a brunch wedding instead of an evening wedding. These are usually a cheaper and plus you can save on food.

Since Invitations set the tone of your wedding, I do not recomend being cheap on invitations and reception favors. But one way to save is by earning discounts. For example, have a catalog show to earn free bucks to apply towards your invitations. Give each of your bridal party and family a catalog to sell products on your behalf. This can add up fast and you can easily earn your invitations for free.

If you are getting married at a wedding chapel, they usually do two weddings a day. Find out what DJ, photographer, etc the other couple is using. Contact those vendors. If you like the vendors request they cut you a deal because they will only have to travel to one place and set-up equipment once. (this worked for me).

Trim your guest list. If you have not talked to this person in over five years. Then you probably should not be inviting them to your wedding.

For the receptions serve fancy refresments instead of a sit down dinner or buffet.

Have your wedding and reception at the same location.

Set Priorities, you and your spouse discuss your wedding goals and priorities.
Rent wedding attire.
